📘 Product Description:

Diethanolamine (DEA) is a colorless, viscous organic compound with both amine and alcohol functionalities. It is commonly used in the production of surfactants, emulsifiers, cosmetics, and gas sweetening (for CO₂ and H₂S removal). DEA is also a key ingredient in Cocamide DEA, which is used in shampoos and liquid soaps.

⚗️ Physical & Chemical Properties:

  • Appearance: Clear to pale yellow liquid
  • Odor: Mild ammonia-like
  • Density (20°C): 1.09 g/cm³
  • Boiling Point: 269°C
  • Freezing Point: 28°C
  • pH (10% solution): 9.5–11
  • Water Solubility: Fully soluble
  • Shelf Life: 12 to 24 months

🧪 Production Process:

DEA is produced by reacting ethylene oxide with ammonia. The reaction yields a mixture of monoethanolamine (MEA), diethanolamine (DEA), and triethanolamine (TEA), which are separated via distillation.
